Lucy Liu is an American actor, voice actress, director producer, and vocalist. She's a beautiful, talented actress who has helped numerous Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. After a series of initial performances in popular shows her fame was boosted by joining the team of the legal comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the villainous Ling Woo. She translated her newfound fame into roles that were filmed on the large screen with Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels as well as other movies. In Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave a stunning performance as Japanese crime boss O-Ren Ishii. In the meantime she was a leading lady in flops that were box-office hits like Rise: Blood Hunter were as well-known. In later years, she worked as voice actor for animated movies, such as Kung Fu Panda. small screen roles like Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia didn't yield any positive results. Southland is a critically-acclaimed series of crime dramas that had Liu playing recurring parts, helped to establish her role as an actress. Liu picks her roles with care so as to avoid being cast in an industry that is competitive. Although she's embraced the roots of her family, she hasn't allowed it to limit her as an artist.
