Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, TV personality as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for over ten years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. Born in Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family at 16 years old. At Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first president and she took it before the age of 21. Her popularity as a columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she completed her studies. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online platform for voice that gave critical opinions on the politics. Her fame led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna was first noticed in 2003 as she stood for California's recall election, replacing then Governor Davis. Alongside that, she led the Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as one of the top women in the media, achieving 12th place on the list and in the same year Guardian included her in the top 100 list of media. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she was made president of the media company. This included many AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos the management and journalism consultant. The way she lived her life was determined through her relationship with her mother, and the bond she shared with her father, even though she was very close to her father. In her early years she showed the leadership abilities that she is still known for. Her move to England came at 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she joined Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first female president and only president from outside the country. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was awarded. Her career as TV host and journalist began after she graduated. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
